So, I thought I’d bring back some more Anime Quick Hits. Let’s get back on board the bus!

Okay, fine. So, about Fate…

Yeah. That. What’s with all the t***s?

Well, there’s not actually that many traps. Astolfo for sure, obviously. But definitely a bunch of gender swaps, in the series and in the games. Actually, I had to laugh when seeing a show on TV about Boudica, the Celtic warrior queen, as it was actually a female character that Fate *hadn’t* gender swapped.

Moving on. You created a Spotify playlist of anime songs?

Sure did.

You talked about following a series versus binge-ing it. Have there been any series you’ve followed that you wish you’d binged instead?

Well, I dunno about actually wishing I’d binged them, but Magical Girl Raising Project and the currently-airing Iroduku are ones I’ve kind of wished, because there’ve been points where I hated having to wait to see what comes next.

How about a set of memes from different shows put together to make a depressing, nihilistic chain?

Sure, why not.

Right. So… about the imouto thing.

Imoutos, or isekai?

Well, we can talk about that too, but for now, imoutos.

What about ‘em?

What’s the fascination?

I imagine the taboo? I dunno. I’m usually in for the goofy comedy, or the unexpected fun stuff – like Midorin’s “raunchy Nagato” voice in OniAi, or how, when you get past the massive ‘normie filters’ in Imouto-sae, there’s actually a pretty damn interesting story there. But some days it’s just about “Eromanga-sensei is trash, and so am I.”

And ImoImo?

In that case, watching a trainwreck.

Uh huh. Got any more bad takes?

I’m still in the middle of watching Nichijou, but I find it mostly “meh”. For me, it’s not the great comedy I was led to expect.

They announced another episode of Hataraku Saibou. Are you excited?

That’s a “yes”, then.

Getting back to isekais, didn’t you have an ‘idea’ for one a while back?

Well, not a serious idea, but yes: MC-kun meets Truck-kun, MC-kun is reincarnated as a bird living inside the food court of a dying mall, MC-kun uses his human memories to help his new bird friends build an advanced bird society that can survive the collapse of the mall.

Are you hoping for KonoSuba season 3?

Sure, but it’s not critical for me at this point. I’d also love a Devil Is A Part-Timer! season 2, and maybe some more Angel Beats OVAs to fill in the missing stuff in the middle. And I’ll take more New Game! any time there’s enough new material for a season.
