Open Forum: Another Steam Demo Overload!

So last week the Gamescom thing happened. I did not care for most of it. However Steam once again came through with a ton of indie demos.

No way in heck I am typing them all out so have these screenshot! Just kidding Alt Text is important for accessibility.

Novibear played For The King, Star Survivor Demo, Core Devourer Demo, Doomsday Paradise Demo, Hailing from the Abyss "Chapter 1" DEMO, Choo Choo Survivor Demo, Infinity Girl Demo, Kind Nature Demo, Indies' Lies Demo, Plushie from the Sky Demo, Doki Doki Ragnarok Demo, LOUD Demo, Dicefolk Demo, Heretic's Fork Demo, NeuroSquad - Slay the Horde Demo, Adapt Demo, Slime Slayer Demo, Kill The Crows Demo, and Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure for the first time.
Novibear played ASTLIBRA ~生きた証~ Revision Demo, Laika: Aged Through Blood Demo, Gaucho and the Grassland Demo, パーリィナイトメア Demo, Odinfall Demo, Grimoire Groves Demo, and Tavern Talk Demo for the first time.

Quick Impressions

I gave all of those a shot above. Some stand outs were Laika Aged Through Blood. Where you play as a tired Mom dog ON A MOTORCYCLE!. Using Trials motorcycle game series balance and physics mixed with shooting action, reactive blocking and bullet deflecting. All the while working in back flips and front flips to reload and recharge your Drift deflect! rootin’ tootin’ time!

Another one that’s actually been out for awhile is AstLibra Revision. Which felt like a zoomed in entry in the Castlevania series but with more flair going on.

Plushie from the sky is a goofy dark souls parody, featuring a cute girl beating monsters with a Plushie.

The last one I wouuld like to mention is Doomsday Paradise. It was like Monster Prom crossed with a lite version of Slay the spire.

That’s all for the notable demos.

Besides that I tried For The King, on it’s free weekend and decided it deserves to be on the wish list. I would likely wait until I have friends to play it with although I am more likely to have folks to play Baldur’s Gate 3 with over that any time soon.

Also I tried the latest entry in the Earthlock series Ikonei Island. which is like a 1-4 player coop fix the island type game. It seems you can tame and befriend monsters to help you do stuff. I didnt get too far in but there was farming and it seems like there will be combat.

So How about those Armored Cores, 6 to be exact

So far the game feels great. I have tried the four leg types available. I’m digging normal biped joint and Tetrapods so far. I may get in to reverse joint and tank legs later though. Unfortunately or Fortunately I have not reached what has been dubbed the FILTER yet. I don’t think it will be too bad though as I play oddly and tend to go all in. From what I have seen others do they are staying so far away they aren’t making any meaningful hits and just getting blown up. Although that could all change once I get there myself. Its been great seeing some of the community’s creativity, from remaking Gundam/Macross/Evangelion, and other series mechs along side just complete memes like PepsiMan, and Neco Arc.

Here’s my AC currently:

My AC6 AC

I had plans to play more Armored Core 6, but family has been over so we played Sun Haven.

Anyway talk amongst yourselves I posted this one for the right time today for surely.
