Hey! Do y’all remember me gushing about Steams Next Fest last week?
Who am I kidding nobody read’s this.
Was that a successful self deprecating guilt trip? No? Well darn I tried anyway moving on with my grand total from the Fest of Next.
I played 26 Demos over the course of it some were already on my wish list, some where new surprise editions and some sadly got removed after I finally got to sink my teeth in to them.
Here is a TLDR of my top 5-6 in no particular order
Potion Permit: I GOT 6 HOURS OUT OF THIS DEMO! I love the town and the gathering and the potion crafting reminds me of Atelier series depending on the game slotting in the pieces is just as important but I don’t have to worry about properties and traits here thank god.
Metal: Hellsinger: It felt way better than BPM: Bullet per Minute as a first person rhythm shooter.
Cult of the Lamb: I love this I have been an immortal cult leader lamb baby for only 40 minutes and I pre purchased the damn game.
Hush Hush: I missed the initial backer campaign but was happy to see it come up finally as a long time player of Crush Crush and Blush Blush.
The last of a tie between Too Good For School and Midnight Fight Express. Both of these games are beat’em ups. MFE is a top down isometric one that flows better. It is also way faster but TGFS is a standard side scroller and has a story and look I like with more RPG and Simulation elements. Like you actually have to be a good student to unlock fighting perks but passing some school related tasks.
It was a great time…
Well that’s all I got…
Oh that new TMNT Shredder’s Revenge game is great its fricking 6 player! I have not beaten it yet but it’s been fun so far.
Also Grindstone being as good as it is makes me mad I didn’t pick it up sooner.
Get involved!
