TAY! Weekend!!! Whatcha Playing?

Tidying Up Loose Ends.

Happy Weekend TAY!

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.  Keep up with all those safety measures, you likely aren’t seeing a vaccine for months (at the very least).

I didn’t end up playing a lot last week.  The clean-up of my storage area took much longer than I was expecting, but that’s mostly because I went whole-hog and ended up sorting things like nails and cables.  I’m finally done (as of last night) and now I need to get all the crap into the garage and prep it for disposal and recycling.

I did take a break to play my weekly session of Remnant: From the Ashes with my friend online.  We’ve finally reached a place where we feel reasonably strong and bosses take only a few attempts before we bring them down.

It is fun…sort of.  I think the game is somewhat repetitive and the combat itself is competent but not terribly compelling.  However, the creature design is amazing and the most exciting part of the game is getting to new areas and discovering what twisted beasts live there…and killing them.

It’s fun…but it is also half-terrible and half-brilliant.

Other than Remnant, I only managed an hour or so of Blood: Fresh Supply to round out my week of gaming.

The terrible part is the combat.  The weapons have almost no feedback, the hitboxes often feel off, and the AI is just dumb.  It’s not unplayable, but you’d never know Monolith Productions would go on to create such masterpieces as F.E.A.R. and Condemned: Criminal Origins.

The level design is the brilliant part of Blood.  For an older game, these levels feel huge and maze-like.  I’m enjoying figuring my way out of each map and I’m constantly amazed by how many secrets I’ve missed.

I’m looking forward to more Blood: Fresh Supply this weekend (it is massive) and hopefully I can get back to more of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners on PSVR.

I’d also like to try to finish up our viewing of season three of The Walking Dead with my family so we can move on to our new 4K box set of Game of Thrones…I still haven’t watched season eight.

So, what are you playing this weekend?
