Hi there, TAY! I hope you all had a swell weekend! I’m back to kick off your week with another Monday Forum, wishing you all a great week ahead.
I have been playing and enjoying Mistwalker’s Fantasian in bits and pieces over the last week or so. I had some initial teething pains with it – it kind of bugged out shortly after the intro level, and that probably hurt the reviews some. It took a few weeks for them to patch, but eventually I could get on with the game and I’ll share a few thoughts on it.
Firstly, I really hope it gets ported to other platforms. It’s (as Novi would say) neat. It looks, feels and plays like a Final Fantasy game, the music is brilliant and I am quite impressed with how well they have developed the control scheme on a mobile device.
I can’t say much about the story just yet, but maybe next week I will have more to say about that. I’m really happy to be playing a game by Hironobu Sakaguchi again, especially paired up with the music of Nobuo Uematsu. It scratches a certain kind of itch, and perhaps this is the Final Fantasy I’ve been waiting for. I’m managing my expectations, it after all does not have a Square Enix sized budget.
Anyway, it’s question time!
- Which Final Fantasy was your favorite, if any?
- Which one did you like the least?
- Name a game designer/producer who’s work you love?
- As always, feel free to Talk Amongst Yourselves!
Get involved!
