TAY2: Open Forum – Onward

It’s Monday again folks, and you know what that means – your first Open Forum for the week! It is my privilege ring in the new week for you, no matter who or where you are.

We’re just about halfway through 2021, and what a year it has been. As far as I am concerned, this year was far better than last – this time last year I was sitting at home doing little aside from playing video games and losing my mind. To be honest, the only way I kept track of the weeks coming and going was my regular DnD fixture every Tuesday with Raith and the gang.

I think it is prudent to look back at times, but it’s more important to look forward. After all, we cannot change what was. We are approaching the 1st year of TAY independence, and to me that is something special. The fact that this community survived being ousted from the Kinja platform is a testament to the strength we built over the years as a bunch of like minded enthusiasts, nerds and whatever else you would care to describe us as.

I don’t know what the future holds, but what I can say for the present is that I am grateful to be here as a part of this community and that I hope it will persevere. After all we have been through, honestly, is there anything that can stop us from being what we want to be?

I guess the jury is out on that one for now. In the mean time, I have some questions for you –

  • Have you ever written for TAY? Share your first piece, if you did!
  • What does TAY mean to you?
  • A bit of a cop out here, but what did you get up to over the weekend?
  • As always, feel free to Talk Amongst Yourselves!

It's better to try and have it fizzle than to not try at all. I would be down to resume the podcast at some point in the near future if you're still interested.

@peepso_user_45(DisturbedShadow) Time zone permitting, I’m also keen on getting the podcast up and running. Also, I agree that it’s better to try - even the get together I have attended with a less than stellar turnout have been enjoyable, even with only 3-4 people. I think consistency is also important, as disheartening as it can be when you have small turnouts each time.

After a extended hiatus from the site (mainly due to being busy with my job along with some other stuff), I am finally back and will try to be a bit more active in this wonderful community.

**_- Have you ever written for TAY? Share your first piece, if you did!_**
Unfortunately, I have not yet contributed any writing to the TAY community. I have wanted to on several occasions, but I find myself getting distracted with life (work, financial stuff, etc) and keep putting it off. Perhaps by the end of the year, I will make the effort to actually write a decent article for the site.

**_- What does TAY mean to you?_**
Hmm...to me, TAY is a wonderful (yet small) community of interesting individuals who are fun to talk with, post content that I like to read/browse through, and provides a nice & quiet place where everything moves along at a relaxed (not hectic) pace unlike some of the other online sites I frequent on a regular basis.

**_- A bit of a cop out here, but what did you get up to over the weekend?_**
Not much outside of gaming on my _PlayStation 5_. Over the course of two days, I put a staggering amount of hours into plowing through the entire story for _L.A. Noire_ (PS4). After the dust settled and the credits rolled for the game, I had put 19 hours into the game over a 48-hour span of time. This is the most hours that I have put into a game over a two day period in quite some time (last time I put more that 15 hours into a game over the span of two days was _Fallout 4_ [PS4] years ago).

Looking forward to this upcoming weekend. I plan on devoting another large chunk of time (between 9 to 14 hours) to _L.A. Noire_ as I go back to mop up the trophies I missed out on during my first playthrough. With some luck, I should have the platinum trophy for this game in two or so weeks (my 11th career platinum trophy).

Well, the hour grows late (just after 1AM PST Thursday morning as I post this), so I will bid you all farewell for now. Have a great Thursday on your ends, everyone!
