While my timetable has fallen off a cliff and the script still isn’t done, it did hit a good milestone. I’m a third of the way done, which is actually a lot more than it sounds like because of the way Koni’s story line is working out. I knew Koni’s was going to be the most difficult going in, with lots of information and lots of possibilities that all needed to be wrangled, organized, and curated. I’m at a point where I know what exactly (for the most part) needs to go in and where, with a concrete list of cut scenes that will need to be drawn. The good, good news is it’s actually going to be less work than I originally thought, but I just need to remain firm about my word count limit and the structure of the rest of the story. Koni is a free spirit, but I can’t let her character hijack the game as much as the story seems to want to.
I still think I can get the script done by the end of the year, or very close to it, and it’s going to be a bit more of a stretch to make my April release date, but I don’t think I need to change that release date, at least not yet, and probably not by more than a month.
