The remake of these games originally were released more than 2 years ago in Japan with no word of a western release. Originally released as Monster Farmer in Japan, the Monster Rancher franchise was a monster breeding and fighting simulator that allowed players to access new breeds by a disc switching system where music CDs could be read to unlock new characters in game. The first 4 PlayStation games, as well as various Gameboy and GBA spinoffs of the franchise had been localized over the years, as well as the cartoon adaptation appearing on Fox Kids having been dubbed by Nelvana, but never had the same pull as rival series Pokemon and Digimon.
The US release will be December 9th 2021 while the European release is December 12th 2021. The game will be released on the Switch as well as Steam, and no word yet about a physical release of the collection
