Open Forum: How’s 2023 treating You All?

Summary

just a life update

I know it’s only been a week but how are things going?

I have been working still and gaming still.

Working through my Pokemon Scarlet game swap with my sister still.

I try to tweet about it when I have 4 pictures to post in a batch.

I also started up a fun little game brough to us over by the folks at PQUBE.

Super Bullet Break!

I picked it up awhile ago when my PS4 bit the dust and i traded it in since there was a bonus even if you weren’t buying a PS5 or PS4 Pro. I finally booted it up and its pretty great.

The easiest way I can sum it up is that it’s like Slay the Spire, but it’s all Anime girls and cute mascots in a meta game about cute girls playing games collecting card/bullets in this game’s deck/magazine to fix the games that are being bugged.

Each game has a linked theme with a mechanic. I am on world 3 the aqua music game, and it’s very tough. The first worlds cards just work. The second world was like a dating sim and those cards can build a hearts-plosion meter for additional effects. The Aqua music gals also have a separate stack mechanic that pops up every 10 stack. Another girls games who I have not gotten to seems to revolve around setting up Passive drones.

Also the Girls playing the game have their own passive.

Its pretty neat so far!

Have you all had any good finds in the new year? Any progress/goals/resolution updates?

Still slowly plugging away at the AC: Odyssey DLC. I'm 91 hours deep in the game now and on part 3 of the first DLC. I think I'm close to finishing it though. Then on to DLC #2 which HowLongToBeat has at 15 hours long so definitely going over 100 hours in this one. Surprisingly haven't gotten bored of it though so they've done a good job of keeping it engaging. It's taking longer to get through it though due to me messing around with my new Switch OLED on my tv and trying out the RetroN Sq. Looking forward to trying out all my gameboy and gameboy advance games on there.

I like PQUBE. I have a bunch of their visual novels and actually just got Dusk Diver on the latest Switch eshop sale.

Well if I ever get tired and have no more Yakuza or Witcher to play and need a slow burn maybe I will consider AC:O.
Oh neat if you have any info on the retro thing to share I am interested in hearing more about it.
I need to get back in to Dusk Diver i was shocked when i saw the Sequel was already out.
