Wow I am really gaming!
My campaign time came in just under 13 hours on the lowest difficulty. I have played the game for a total of 21 according to the ps5 timer. I believe time not spent in your own campaign world is not counted. So any time where you aren’t the host is likely not counted on your campaign timer when you look between your campaign and adventure mode.
Remnant 2 may be much longer on a solo offline run, especially at higher difficulties. I had the luxury of playing with friends though. My experience was made even better though by having friends who have been playing since pre-order early access. As well as a few who watched and remembered the puzzle guides. Although I beat the game I have not dropped it immediately. I still wanted to unlock the last class that I am missing, and maybe see a fee of the world bosses I missed.
My Loadout
I stuck with three weapons for most of my run. The Sagittarius Bow a primary weapon. This bow can be obtained in the jungle ruins biome after solving a puzzle. Which I recommend just using a guide for. The lore book hint in game made no sense to me and its a series of 3 puzzles.. Sorry the name escapes me. The special mod is nice for dealing with a crowded group. Pop it on fire an arrow in the area and portal above opens up raining stars down on your enemies.
My melee weapon of choice was the Red Deer Staff which could also can be obtained from that same biome as the bow from one possible world bosses called The Ravager. However; only if you heal the deer then kill the boss can you acquire it. THE SPECIAL THING ABOUT THIS ONE IS THAT YOU ONLY HAVE TO DO 400 DAMAGE. Which is actually easier than you think it is when you get a small swarm in a 3 hit combo. THEN ON YOUR NEXT CHARGE ATTACK YOU SLAM IT DOWN AND SHOOT A SPIRIT DEER AT YOUR ENEMIES. I think that’s pretty neat.
My favorite secondary weapon was the Star Shot which can be found on the derelict alien Arc world Biome. Its very annoying to get depending on your open worlds section layout due to you needing to find some space coffins on a randomized map. Anyway the Star Shot’s special is that you kind of do a galaxy big bang cosmic shot type thing. It looks’ cool but also do not do it near friends or when the boss is too low it will kill you.
Sidenote
I am looking in to the other outcomes as you can reroll the world for another attempt and take the other option and fight a world bosses for another possible weapon. Also if you get a dupe its a free level up on the weapon I believe if you crafted it that is otherwise you get Scrap which is the games currency. Oh did I mention that alien planet world has no hard invisible walls and will instead let you wander in to vomit inducing danger mist and die? Yeah hazards be all over here. There is actually another secret that requires you to leap of faith roll through for some secret I am forgetting. I think it was for a class but I may be wrong.
My Class
I started as a challenger. The classes are called Archetypes in Remnant 2. I played Challenger and Medic for most of the game. Playing as a healthy tough guy helped me breeze through most of the content with back up from friends. With Challengers one free auto res every 10 minutes, and Medic’s ability to well, heal. Actually I had not even maxed my first class until after I beat the game. I am currently playing a Medic Hunter. I use the party shield heal, and the hunter sense to highlight all enemies and boost my damage. Looking forward to trying a summoner and handler build.
What’s next?
Bombrush Cyberfunk was the only thing on my radar besides Armored Core 6. I am getting early surprised birthday gifted Pikmin 4. I say it is a surprise because I was told not to buy it, and I know what that means when I get those kind of messages from my family. The surprise is when I actually get it. Beyond that My sister Just Bought Valthirian Arc 2. Which is like a fantasy school adventure rpg meets school sim builder? I enjoyed the first one So I am looking forward to trying the sequel.
I need to do the FF14 summer event and cancel my sub again until maybe Halloween if the even drops look good enough. Catching up on PSO2 NGS story content then maybe gonna take a break on that like with Warframe.
