I’m really looking forward to playing Returnal at the end of the week. That’s influenced a lot of my game selections lately as I’ve revisited previous Housemarque games like Super Stardust HD and Resogun. Yesterday evening I thought I’d head in a slightly different direction and give my roguelite chops a stretch with some Hades.
It went pretty well.
I wound up with a gun win for the first time, mostly based around Demeter’s freezing laser pylons. Those things are great! Just hold enemies in place while Zag unloads clips into them. The run pretty much went like this:
Talk Amongst Yourselves!
- Show me your builds, for Hades and otherwise. What’s a good one you’ve had lately?
- What games are you looking forward to? Any on the horizon?
- Thinking of the gun in Hades – What are other good, anachronistic weapon in videogame settings?
Get involved!

I'm 5 hours deep into Cyberpunk 2077 and it's been a pretty fun experience so far. It's definitely an RPG first and a shooter second. I had heard this before starting the game and it's definitely true. There's been one big gun battle that I can remember but so far I've been able to talk to people or manipulate them instead of choosing violence which I've found to be a fun way to play these games. The pause screen says I'm 10% of the way in so I'm looking at 50 hours to complete it. And I've done minimal side quests so far and I hear those can be pretty awesome in this so I definitely will be doing more soon so who know how long I'll be playing this one for. I've been splitting time between this and MLB: The Show 21. I've been building up my two way player as a pitcher and right fielder that occasionally DH's. I'm definitely a better pitcher than hitter right now but I'm getting better. Hoping for a call up to the AAA club soon.
